Expertise in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Simran Kaur is the founder of Airway Myology. She’s a certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist and a registered Dental Hygienist, and she’s passionate about helping children and adults breathe, sleep, and function at their best.

Simran found her way into myofunctional therapy while practicing dental hygiene. For her, OMT was the missing link between what she’d learned in hygiene school and what actually makes for a healthy, functional mouth and airway. She’s kept building on that ever since, through continuing education courses, webinars, and a lot of reading.

Her advanced training with the International Association of Orofacial Myology lets her help patients dealing with sleep-disordered breathing, mouth breathing, improper tongue posture, and TMJ/TMD symptoms. She also provides myofunctional therapy pre and post surgical procedures like tongue, cheek and lip ties  that limit movement and function.

Simran’s approach is gentle, and she cares for the whole family, not just the patient in the chair. She works alongside airway-focused dentists, orthodontists, ENTs, pediatricians, and craniosacral therapists so that care is genuinely coordinated. Rather than chasing symptoms, she wants to find the root cause and work through it step by step.

When she’s not with patients, Simran is usually with her husband and their two kids in Northern Virginia.

At Airway Myology, we believe it takes a village to raise a happy, healthy person. Our goal is to be that supportive, encouraging space, improving quality of life one person at a time, and having some fun while we do it.
